It’s been a big year for our foundation. We had our biggest ever Moms’ Run in May with more than 300 runners and some amazing sponsors and volunteers. We launched a support group for new moms in addition to our monthly postpartum depression support group. We have more volunteers and board members and we’re participating in more community events so more people are aware of the work we’re doing.
As we grown as an organization this year, we’ve taken a fresh look at our structure and our marketing. As a result, we’re changing our “doing business as” name to Postpartum Support Charleston. We’ll continue to have the parent organization, the Ruth Rhoden Craven Foundation, so are honoring Ruth’s memory and her family. You’ll start to see Postpartum Support Charleston used in our branding and marketing. This is not only a shorter organization name and therefore easier for people to remember but also broadens the scope of our work. We want to help new mothers – those who need to simply make connections with other moms and those who are struggling with postpartum depression.

PPD support and services will remain the core of our mission but we know many women are hesitant to admit their struggles with PPD and by offering more services for new moms we believe we can help even more women with PPD.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to an even bigger and better 2013! If you have questions about our organization, our services or how you can get involved, please email board president Holly Fisher at contact@ppdsupport.org.
