To better support moms in our community, Postpartum Support Charleston is adding a second PPD support group beginning in September. This second group will meet in the North Charleston area and will be open to both English- and Spanish-speaking mothers.
Postpartum Depression Support Groups presented by Postpartum Support Charleston
East Cooper Area
When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. the 1st Tuesday of the month
Where: East Cooper Medical Center, 2000 Hospital Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Room 2132
North Area
When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. the 3rd Monday of the month:
Where: Trident Medical Center Community Center, 9228 Medical Plaza Drive in North Charleston (2nd floor classroom).
This group is led by a Spanish-speaking facilitator so Spanish-speaking mothers are invited to attend.
Spouses/partners and infants are welcome. Free.
Are you suffering from any of the following symptoms since having a baby?
- Feelings of anger or irritability
- Lack of interest in the baby
- Appetite and sleep disturbance
- Crying and sadness
- Feelings of guilt, shame or hopelessness
- Loss of interest, joy or pleasure in things you used to enjoy
- Possible thoughts of harming the baby or yourself
