Postpartum depression is TEMPORARY.  It may take some time to get over, but it will go away.

Postpartum depression is TREATABLE.  There is treatment out there for you.  Don't be afraid to ask for help!

The symptoms of postpartum depression may come and go.  Don't ignore what you are feeling simply because you have good days as well as bad days.

If the medication you are taking is not working, talk to your doctor.  A new dose or a new type of antidepressant can be prescribed for you.  There are a large number of different antidepressants available, so you should be able to find one to fit your individual needs.

Symptoms of PPD can appear during pregnancy.  If you are pregnant and you recognize some of the symptoms listed on this site, PLEASE talk to your doctor.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, there ARE antidepressants you can take.  Discuss this with your doctor.  There is no reason for you to suffer the symptoms of PPD unnecessarily.

If you feel you are not being listened to by your doctor or other healthcare professional, FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL.  You deserve to have your concerns listened to and addressed, so keep looking!  Please contact us for possible suggestions on how to find the help you need.

Most importantly, please remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Postpartum depression is common and there are other women out there who are suffering or who have suffered just the way you are.  Your thoughts and feelings are not unique--you are not at fault!

Please contact us for support.
