Amy,

My son was nine months old when I realized I had PPD. I had it all along, but didn't know it until May 1st, just over one year ago. That was my breaking point, on a weekend, alone with the baby. I wouldn't get out of the shower, crying, sobbing actaully. My husband found me, and begged me to get help. I went online and found Helena, she validated my feelings, and on Monday I called my Doctor. Over a year later, we still correspond. She is an amazing woman, and had dedicated herself to help women like us, women she knows via what she saw in her daughter Ruth. She has seen first hand what PPD does, therefore I trusted her with my life, literally!

Call your Doctor ASAP. The sooner you start treatment, the sooner you will feel better. I can't begin to tell you how much my life has changed through medicine and treatment. It was awful before, the dread, the heavy chest, the fear of being alone with myself, my son....it was no way to live.

I live now, I love my son, my husband cannot believe the difference in me. I am the woman he married again. We are actually trying to have another baby.
