Hey, Amy
I am so sorry you are feeling so awful, but, yes, this could be postpartum depression. It can strike up to a year after delivery.
I highly recommend having your thyroid checked, though, just to make sure it is functioning properly because if you thyroid is not functioning properly, that can also cause depression.
Do you have a lot of anxiety with the depression -- feeling overwhelmed, like you just can't do a good job of being a mom? Super anxiety is a PPD symptom.
A local health clinic could do the bloodwork for the thyroid test for you free.
If you will give me your mailing address, I will send you some free information on postpartum depression that should help you a lot. And when I know where you live, I may be able to put you in touch with some medical help.
Feel free to call me any time at the phone number on this website.
PLEASE do not suffer needlessly. You need to follow up on this immediately because depression can be devastating -- and it shouldn't be because it is totally treatable.
God loves you, and so do I. Helena
