Hey, "Sarn"
Are you currently on any medication for depression/mood disorders? If so, it is vitally important that you continue on them during pregnancy. All too often, doctors take patients off mood stabilizers when they become pregnant. According to Dr. Ronald Rosenberg, Detroit, Michigan OB/psychiatrist who specialized in treating PPD/PPP, this is a huge mistake.
There are medications you can take while pregnant. Please contact me at BuzerHel@aol.com or 843 881-2047 and let's talk.
Proper treatment is imperative for a healthy, pregnant mom. Once you have experienced PPD, the likelihood of it returning during subsequent pregnancies is very high. However, with proper treatment the risks of another serious bout with it are much lower.
Another important fact to know is antidepressant/mood stabilizers need to be increased 12 hours after delivery. Again, this information comes from Dr. Rosenberg.
Thank you so much for your post on our website. We will do everything we can to help you!
My prayers are with you for a great pregnancy, a healthy baby and good health for both of you after delivery.
God bless you, Helena
